The Merced Flyins were the gathering place for antique airplanes from 1970s through the early 1990s. Here we have a 1933 Waco UIC, N13408, c/n 3767, at a late 1980s event. Interestingly, this plane was in the air over Hawaii on December 7, 1941, piloted by Bob Tyce of K-T Air Service. While able to evade and land, Tyce would be killed shortly later by strafing Zeros.
