Northrop P-61 Black Widow was designed by the United States aircraft industry to be a fully dedicated night fighter, with the latest radar and armed with four 20mm cannon and four 0.50 caliber machine guns. It was the largest fighter of any type built for the U.S. Army Air Corps, seeing service in the European and Pacific Theaters of war. First flight was in 1942 (Air Material Command photo from R.E.
